National Archeologic Museum
Local name: Museo archeologico nazionale
The local archaeological museum is located on two floors of a small building. On the first floor, there are Neolithic collections found during excavations in the city and its vicinity. The second floor is devoted to the period from the rise of Great Greece, i.e. VII-VI century BC, when the first Greek colonies were established on the Apennine Peninsula, to the Roman times.
Here you can discover the history of the foundation and development of the city of Sybaris. The most interesting exhibits include tombs from the Iron Age and religious artifacts from the Athena sanctuary from the 6th-4th century BC. It is also worth paying attention to a bronze table, dated to the beginning of the 6th century BC. Olympia.
