Cathedral of Santo Stefano Protomartire

The cathedral was built on the site of an earlier basilica from 1038 and is dedicated to St. Stefan. The facade is simple and austere, predominantly Romanesque, while the interior combines a variety of architectural styles. The most characteristic element of the church is the soaring 11th-century belfry.
