Archaeological area of Tharros

The archaeological open-air museum is located on the site where the Phoenicians founded the city of Tharros in the 8th century BC. The excavations carried out here have brought numerous discoveries, especially from the Roman period, when the city flourished. The finds can be viewed at the Sardinian National Archaeological Museum in Cagliari.
