Old Cathedral

Local name: Duomo Vecchio

The so-called "Old Cathedral" is a circular Romanesque temple officially known as the Winter Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. The church was built in the 11th century on the site of an earlier temple. Here you can see the medieval crypt of San Filastrio, the red marble sarcophagus of Bishop Berard Maggi and many valuable works of art.
