Cathedral of Anagni

For centuries, the cathedral was the summer residence of the popes (before Castel Gandolfo). It is dedicated to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church was built in the Romanesque style in 1072-1104 under the patronage of the Byzantine emperor Michel VII Ducas. The interior is in the Gothic-Lombard style.
