Geokaun Mountain & Fogher Cliffs
Mount Geokaun and the Cliffs of Fogher are located on the small island of Valentia off the coast of County Kerry in Western Ireland. It is the highest point on the island and offers great views of, among others, the Dingle Peninsula, the Skelling Islands and, in good weather, Ireland's highest peak, Carrantuohill.
Mount Geokaun is only 180 meters above sea level. Its foothills, however, are at sea level, which makes it appear higher. It occupies the northeastern part of the island of Valentia, which can be reached via from Portmagee. You can reach the summit by car or one of several routes. At its foot, there is a circular trail that allows you to admire the hill and its surroundings from all sides. It runs along the edge of the Fogher Cliff, a spectacular rock wall that breaks in the waves of the Atlantic.
