Glencar Falls is located on the north shore of Glencar Lough and consists of two parts. The first is a relatively shallow, stepped pond with a footbridge and a wooden railing. A little higher is the actual waterfall, which is over 15 meters high. There is a playground for children, picnic areas, a cafe and a large parking lot nearby. Glencar Falls inspired the poet William Butler Yeats, who included it in his poem "Stolen Child".
