The National Wax Museum Plus is a private wax museum. You can see both historical figures and cartoon heroes as well as anatomical models. One of the exhibitions is dedicated to famous Irish writers such as James Joyce, Samuel Beckett and Oscar Wilde. Another presents the history of Ireland from the medieval times, through the times of famine, up to the present day. You can also meet Dracula and Hannibal Lecter here. There is no shortage of Harry Potter and even Peppa's pig.
The museum houses the Science and Discovery Zone as well as the Recording Studio and Wax Factor. Visitors can also make wax casts of their own hands and shop at the gift shop.
The museum was founded in 1996. It was originally located on Granby Row, but the then building was demolished to make room for the hotel. In the past, it was a former prayer house transformed into a cinema, and then into a wax figure workshop. From 2017, the facility is located in a new location, on Westmoreland Street.
