City Hall

Dublin City Hall is located in the city center, close to the Castle. Built in the second half of the 18th century, it represents the neoclassical style. A flattened dome rises above the façade with a columned portico and tympanum. The interior is dominated by a circular hall surrounded by a colonnade.

The town hall was built in the 1770s. Currently, there are mainly representative rooms here. Much of the offices have been relocated to new buildings in Wood Quay.

The building represents the architecture characteristic of the end of the 18th century. It refers to ancient and renaissance architecture. The façade is hidden behind a huge portico topped with a tympanum. Behind the entrance there is a round hall covered with a coffered dome. It is surrounded by columns and classical sculptures. On the floor, there is a mosaic with the coat of arms and the city's motto. The city council meeting room is located on the first floor. Only the hall is open to visitors.
