Vatnajökull National Park

The national park covers the Vatnajökull area, one of the largest glaciers in Europe. Numerous routes have been marked out here, including short and easy ones leading to the Svartifoss waterfall and the Skaftafellsjökull glacier, and more advanced routes to the Kristínartindar peaks. You can also go to Iceland's highest peak, Hvannadalshnjúkur.
