Gibraltar is a British overseas territory occupying a small portion of the Iberian Peninsula. Due to its location on the strait connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, it has been a strategic place since antiquity.
One of the biggest attractions is the Rock of Gibraltar, most of which is protected by a nature reserve. There is the only species of monkeys in Europe - the Berber Macaque. You can reach the summit by cable car, bus or on foot.
Other places worth visiting include Europa Point, the southernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula, as well as the Great Siege Tunnels network of underground corridors built by the British at the end of the 18th century. Dolphins and whales can be observed in the area. For this purpose, it is worth going on a boat trip, organized by one of the local organizers.
