The market was marked out in the early Middle Ages. Over time, the homes of the finest families of Trier emerged around him. Today, you can see gothic, renaissance and baroque tenement houses. Many of them have beautifully decorated facades. On the market square there is a 16th-century well - a fountain with the figure of Saint Peter and figures depicting the epitome of cardinal virtues.
