The church was founded in the mid-fourteenth century by Charles of Luxembourg. He was a court chapel, in which above the porch there is a room from which the emperor listened to the mass. In the three-nave Gothic temple, rich stone and sculptural decorations have been preserved. The late-Gothic carved altar from the demolished St. Vitus church was placed in the presbytery.
