Ilsenburg Monastery

Local name: Kloster Ilsenburg

The first confirmed mention of a Benedictine monastery dates back to the 10th century - now the Romanesque-Gothic building belongs to the Evangelical church. The tombstone of the legendary Adelbrin, the founder of the monastery, who died in 900, has been preserved in the crypt.
