Museum for Bergedorf and the Vierlande

Local name: Museum für Bergedorf und die Vierlande

The museum located in the Bergedorf castle presents this Hamburg district, as well as the lives of its inhabitants and residents of the castle over the centuries. Historic rooms with stucco and wall paintings are a chronicle of this multidimensional district.

The permanent exhibition entitled "People, Customs, Changes" is a tour of the history of Bergedorf and Vierländer since the Reformation. Visitors go on a journey in time that tells about the great religious events of this era and the cultural richness of the region.

The exhibits mainly concern faith, care and education. There are baptisms from Vierlanden, tools and items of regional craft, the original "Dons" by Gesche Hitscher and Landherrenzimmer - characteristic for those times the conference room of the senator responsible for the Hamburg land area.
