Heinzelmännchen fountain

Local name: Heinzelmännchenbrunnen

The fountain is an illustration of a well-known legend, according to which dwarfs lived in Cologne, who did all the work for the city's inhabitants. In 1836, poet August Kopisch wrote it in a poem. In 1899 a fountain was erected in his honor with subsequent scenes from the poem.
