Prince Pückler Park

Local name: Fürst Pückler Park

The Muskauer Park is located on both sides of the Polish-German border, covering the picturesque Nysa Łużycka valley. In its area there is an extensive naturalistic park on the Polish side as well as gardens and pleasureground on the German side. Both parts are connected by the Double Bridge and the English Bridge. The park can be reached on foot, by renting a bicycle or a carriage.

Pasrk Mużakowski also known as Park Muskau has a history dating back to the first half of the 19th century, when the author of the concept of the Prussian aristocrat Hermann von Pückler-Muskau initiated the creation of a park on his property. The historical part, located behind the Polish-German border also includes historic buildings of the former estate. The English-style park is considered one of the greatest achievements of garden art in Europe.

Currently, together with the Polish part, the park covers an area of 700 ha and is divided by the Nysa River. On German lands there are about 1/3 of the historic layout, on the Polish side there are about 500 ha of picturesque corners, hiding cultural and natural elements. The Muskauer Park has been on the UNESCO list since 2004.
