Water towers at the Red Gate

Local name: Wassertürme am Roten Tor

The combined water towers at the Red Gate are two of the nine towers that supplied the city with water in the 19th century. They were built in the 15th century, making them the oldest in Augsburg. In the following centuries they were regularly expanded. A spiral staircase leads to the top of the smaller tower.
