One of the three fountains in the square in front of the town hall is crowned with a statue of the Roman emperor Augustus, the founder of the city. The sculpture measures 2.5 m in height, and its tunic is decorated with carvings symbolizing the features of the emperor. The fountain is also decorated with smaller sculptures, including representing water deities.
