Col des Boeufs

The Col des Boeufs lies in the heart of the Reunion National Park. It is a plateau at 1956 meters above sea level on a ridge connecting two natural circuses, Mafate and Salazie. At the beginning of the 20th century it was seized for breeding purposes, but in the 21st century it became rather depopulated. You can get to the Col des Boeufs via a forest hiking trail that starts at the guarded parking lot. It usually takes about 30 minutes to complete it.
