The cave 35 m long and 10 m wide became known in 1838 after discovering the remains of prehistoric animals (bison, deer, rounds and hairy rhinos). 100 years later, 10,000 were found in it. stone tools, and during subsequent tests the skull man from Tautavel (homo erectus or homo neanderthalensis).
