Church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption

The temple and the town of the same name became famous thanks to the American paratrooper, John Steele, who hung on the facade of the church during the landing on June 6, 1944. He pretended to be dead for several hours and was therefore not shot by the Germans. His image and parachute are still on the roof of the church to this day.
