Monastery of St. Paul of Mausole
Local name: Monastère Saint-Paul de Mausole
The abbey from the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries, a pearl of Romanesque architecture, became famous thanks to Vincent Van Gogh. The painter stayed in a psychiatric hospital there after a tragic episode that ended with his ear being cut off. During his one-year stay, he created 143 paintings and over 100 drawings.
