SAINT-JEAN-DE-LUZFrance
St. John the Baptist Church
Local name: Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste
The heart of the Saint Jean de Luz parish is the church of Saint John the Baptist. In the 17th century, it was the place where the marriage of King Louis XIV with the infant Mary from Spain was celebrated. It is first Gothic, then rebuilt in the Baroque style building. There is one of the largest baroque wooden altars in France with several dozen figures of saints and blessed.
