Abbey of Saint Germer de Fly

The Benedictine abbey was established in the 7th century on the initiative of Germer de Fly, a high state official, who became a monk and first prior after his wife's death. The mixture of gothic and romanesque styles preserved to this day is the result of the destruction of the monastery during the Norman invasions.
