The Tertre Square in Paris is the heart and center of the artistic Montmartre district. It reminds us of the time when Montmartre was a Mecca for contemporary art. Near the square are the Montmartre Museum, the former home and studio of Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Suzanne Valadon, and the museum dedicated to the life, sculpture and drawings of Salvador Dali.

At the beginning of the 20th century, many famous and poor painters lived at Tertre Square, including Pablo Picasso and Maurice Utrillo. Tertre Square is the cradle of modernist art. bringing together artists to this day. Every day the square is filled with many artists and crowds of tourists visiting Montmartre.

Tertre Square, which is the center of the former city of Montmartre, and today one of the districts of Paris, was built in the fourteenth century and borders on closing the walls of the abbey of Montmartre. Urban regulation is based on the plan of Jouvin de Rochefort and dates from 1672. The first town hall was built here in 1790.
