The Vert-Galant square is located at the end of the island of La Cite, near Pont Neuf. It is a small, tree-lined square with a magnificent view of the Louvre and the right bank of the Seine.
The name of the square comes from King Henry VI. It means a vital suitor and reminds many lovers who were kept by the monarch. Because of this fame and a nice view it is one of the most visited places by lovers in Paris.
The square is small, but thanks to the variety of trees, shrubs and flowers that cover it, it has had the title of "ecological green space" since 2007. There are benches in the shade of the trees, where you can relax from the hustle and bustle of Paris.
