Saint Michael's Bridge connects the left bank of the Seine with the island of La Cite. It was built in the mid-nineteenth century. It is a stone structure with three spans and a length of 62 meters.
The first bridge in this place was built already in the fourteenth century. Its name comes from the Palace of Justice today. The medieval bridge, which survived until the mid-nineteenth century, was built with stalls and houses. It was demolished during the great reconstruction of Paris. In 1857, the current three-span crossing was built. It is decorated with laurel wreaths with the letter "N".
