The Inwalidów Bridge is a 152-meter long walking and road crossing over the Seine. It is a stone, arched bridge, based on three pillars decorated with sculptural decoration.
The current Invalid Bridge was built in 1855. Earlier on this site stood a suspended structure, based on two pillars. It was demolished due to construction errors and damage due to ice blockage. The arch bridge was designed by Jules Savarin and Paul Martin Gallocher de Lagalisserie. On the pillars, sculptors Wiktor Vilain and Georges Diebolt placed an allegory for the victories of the French army on land and sea, as well as sculptures praising the greatness of the French weapon.
