The Miraculous Medal Chapel is located in the Montparnasse district of Paris. This is one of the most important French sanctuaries. Hidden in the yard, behind the buildings of Due de Bac street, the small chapel is visited by hundreds of thousands of pilgrims. There is a figure of the Virgin Mary Immaculate and the body intact of Katarzyna Laboure, whose revelations caused the creation of the Miraculous Medal.
Catherine Laboure was a nun in the congregation of Charites. She lived in the monastery on Rue de Bac. In 1930 she had apparitions in which she was to be ordered to strike a medal with the image of the Immaculate Conception. His cult quickly spread to the whole world.
The Chapel of the Miraculous Medal is primarily a pilgrimage site. On the polychromes covering the walls, you can see scenes from Katarzyna's life. A transparent casket with its preserved body was placed under the main altar. The faithful pray primarily before the figure of the Virgin Mary. The shrine is looked after by the Sisters of Charity.
