Local name: Château Montbéliard

The castle is located on a rocky hill overlooking the town's buildings. It was built on the site of a Gallic fort. From 1397, it belonged to the Württemberg family, from which Maria, wife of Tsar Peter I came. Currently, the castle houses the Württemberg family museum and the city's history and archeology museum.
