Unité d'Habitation

The modernist residential building was designed by Le Corbusier in cooperation with the architect and painter Nadir Afonso. It was the first of the buildings with this name that was built and became the basis for similar projects built in other European cities. He is also considered an important inspiration for a style known as brutalism.
