Citadel of Givet

The fort was built in 1555 by order of the King of France, Henry II Valois during the war with the Netherlands. The building served a defensive function until the end of World War II, and then in the years 1961-2009 it housed a commando training center. Currently, it is a historic building and a place for organizing cultural events.
