The sixteenth-century temple was built on the site of a Romanesque church destroyed by fire in the 13th century, which, according to tradition, already existed here in the 4th century. During the French Revolution, the church was converted into a military hospital, later it served as a prison and a warehouse. Religious functions were restored in 1822.
