Briare is a town in the Loire Valley, which delights with traditional buildings and numerous canals and locks. A popular form of entertainment are canal boat trips, which can last up to several hours.

The village is situated where the canals connect the Loire with the Loing and Seine rivers. There is a canal-aqueduct designed by Geustav Eiffel and it runs above ground level. Briare has the charm of a seaside town with a marina where boats and barges are moored, and a boulevard decorated with flowers. Many of the boats dock here are private, but there are also some that can be rented for a shorter or longer voyage.

Among the attractions of Briare are its buildings with a 19th-century church, pretty houses with different colored facades, and many cafes and restaurants. The pride of the village is the 19th-century Trousse-Barriere palace, which is now used for cultural events and exhibitions.
