Guedelon is a project unique in the world. In the town of Treigny, a medieval castle is built from scratch erected using the techniques used at that time. At present, part of the assumption is ready, in which experimental archeology workshops, historical events and workshops for children and youth take place.
The goal of the project is to create a place that brings the realities of life in the Middle Ages closer. For this purpose, a gothic castle with defensive walls, a residential building and a tower is being built. The interiors are decorated with replicas of old furniture. Copies of equipment and weapons used in medieval times are also presented here.
The castle offers visitors the opportunity to participate in workshops and demonstrations of ancient crafts, cooking medieval dishes and fighting with swords, spears and bows. Outdoor historical events are also held here.
