The facility presents the history of the city from the Roman times, when the first large commercial port was built here - we can see a gallery of famous figures born in Corsica, headed by Napoleon Bonaparte. The museum is located in the 14th-century palace of the governors of the island, which was built during the reign of the Republic of Genoa.
