The 85-meter rock in Roman times was a place of worship of Mercury - now there is a chapel from the 10th century, which can be accessed by climbing 268 steps carved in the rock. The temple is a pilgrimage site, one of many on the so-called Way of St. James - the trail leading to the sanctuary in Santiago de Compostela.
