Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo

The museum is one of the largest in the world. The collections have over 100,000 exhibits, with permanent exhibitions covering approx. 4.5 thousand of them. There are collections of items from Egypt, North Africa, Andalusia, the Arabian Peninsula and Iran from the 7th to the 19th century. Among them are rare Koran manuscripts written in silver ink.
