The picturesque garden was founded in 1790 by the French nobleman Antoine de Bosc de la Calmette for his wife Elisabeth, known as Lisa. It is from her name that the name of the property comes from. It is considered to be one of the most representative examples of the English Romantic style garden in Scandinavia.
The property is only open to the public in May, but the garden is open all year round. You can walk there and watch the ducks swimming on one of the several ponds covered with water lilies.
Throughout the garden, there are numerous monuments and several small, but climatic buildings. It is worth paying attention to the thatched Swiss House, which used to function as a gardener's hut, as well as the Summer Chinese House and the Norwegian House, which house guest rooms.
