The monumental lookout tower stands on a hill 105 meters above sea level. It is 55 meters high and is the highest viewing point in the city. There is a panoramic restaurant at the top of the tower. It offers a view of all of Aalborg, and on a clear day you can also see the Hals Barre lighthouse.
The steel tower was built in 1933 to a design by architect Carlo Odgård and civil engineer Svend Rønnowa for the Nordjysk Udstilling exhibition. In 2005, it was thoroughly renovated - the entire building was dismantled and reassembled.
