Baroque cascading garden located at the palace of Jan Joseph of Vrtby. The site has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The area due to its location on the hillside of Petrin Hill is divided into three terraces. In addition to the well-preserved 17th-century garden, visitors can also see a gallery with works by Czech and international artists and a birdhouse with numerous exotic specimens.
Entrance to the garden takes place directly from the street by the so-called. The Terreno Room, where you can admire the frescoes of Wenceslas Wawrzyniec Reiner and the sculptures of Mathias Bernard Braun.
The Italian-style baroque garden was designed by the CzechMaximilián Kaňka. Jan Józef had the means to recruit the best Italian or German specialists to build his garden, but the burgher of the Prague Castle decided to trust the local designer.
