Chynovska cave
Local name: Chýnovská jeskyně
Chynowska Cave is the longest-accessible cave in the Czech Republic. It was officially opened to tourists in 1868. There is a 220-meter underground route here. The cave is not characterized by rich stalactite. Its attraction are different colored, penetrating layers of marble and amphibolites.
The examined cave corridors are 1200 meters long. 220 meters are available for tourists. You can see, among others, nineteenth century steps, carved out after the discovery of the cave. It occurred as a result of quarry exploitation. The cave is made of white, yellow and brown marble and dark amphibolites. An underground stream flows inside the cave, but the tourist route is led through dry parts of the corridors.
