Baths of Aphrodite
Local name: Λουτρά της Αφροδίτης
Aphrodite's Baths are a natural pond in a rock recess surrounded by fig bushes and trees. According to legend, the Greek goddess of beauty and love, Aphrodite, was to use this pond for bathing. Here, too, she was to meet her lover, Adonis, for the first time. Aphrodite's baths are located in the small botanical garden of the same name.
Applications also state that the water in the pond has magical and healing properties. Anyone who has a bath in it will restore youth and vitality, and also have a positive effect on fertility. However, it is impossible to verify this legend because swimming in the pool is currently prohibited.
The Aphrodite Baths are part of the Aphrodite Cultural Route, which is a tourist route connecting interesting places associated with the goddess Aphrodite. Nearby is also the spring known as the Fountain of Love. Legend has it that everyone who drinks water from it will fall in love with the first person they meet.
