The small, three-nave temple was built in the years 1613-1614. It is only 8.37 meters long, 6.5 meters wide and 5.2 meters high. The lower part is made of stones and the upper part is made of bricks. Its simple, austere architecture contrasts with the lavish, decorative interior.
Almost the entire surface of the internal walls and vault is covered with frescoes. They were made in 1614 by anonymous artists. They present a total of 460 biblical figures and saints. It is also worth paying attention to the unique iconostat with a carved wreath. The icons represent Almighty Christ, the Archangel Michael, the Mother of God with the Child, John the Baptist and the patrons of the church, St. Theodore Stratelates and St. Theodore of Amaseia.
Adjacent to the temple is a small but picturesque garden with herbs and medicinal plants. There is a well in it, and the water that comes from it has miraculous properties.
