The medieval cloth hall was one of the largest commercial buildings in Europe at the time of its construction. Their construction lasted from the 12th to the beginning of the 13th century. Currently, they house exhibition halls and city offices. The top floor is occupied by a museum dedicated to the First World War and the battles at Ypres.
