The tower dates from the 12th century and is the oldest preserved belfry in the country. It has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It measures 72 m in height. For years it served as a watchtower, prison, belfry, clock tower and town hall. Currently, it hosts exhibitions and audiovisual presentations.
