Belfry of Kortrijk

Local name: Belfort van Kortrijk

The medieval belfry was part of the old cloth hall. It also served as a treasury and city archive. At its top there was an observation point from which threats and fires were looked out for. The oldest part of the tower dates back to 1411. The building was entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
