The eighteenth-century cemetery is a historic building, famous for the burials of many important personalities - politicians, actors, scientists and writers. Rests here, among others longtime Dutch Prime Minister Wilfried Martens and Corneel Heymans, Nobel Prize winner in medicine and physiology.
