The castle garden in Luxembourg covers an area of 280 hectares, and owes its present appearance to Emperor Francis I. The whole is kept in a romantic atmosphere, in the style of the Middle Ages. This is one of the most important examples of garden architecture in Austria.
In the castle garden we can see the Old Castle from the 13th century, the New Castle (the so-called Blue Court) from the 16th century and Franzensburg, built on the island at the beginning of the 19th century.
In addition to the largest architectural monuments in the garden there is also the Temple of Concordia, Rock Grotto, Grave and Knights' Column. A few years ago, a recreational center and a camping site were established on the outskirts, which further increased the number of tourists arriving there.
